Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for an HGV Bootcamp you must be:
- Age 19 or older on or before 31 August 2024.
- Resident in England for the last 3 years.
- Committed to completing the learning hours for your pathway within a 16 week period.
- Committed to gaining employment using the licence you have gained on HGV Skills Bootcamps.
- Employment criteria:
- Unemployed for less than one year.
- Currently employed and want to supplement your income or change career and become an HGV driver.
- Currently employed but want to change career and become an HGV driver
- An existing CAT C driver wanting to upskill to CAT C+E and move into CAT C+E employment.
- Self-employed and want to supplement your income or change career and become an HGV driver.
- Employed and supported by your current employer through an employer contribution of 10% for small or medium-sized businesses or 30% for larger companies (250 employees or more) to upskill within the company and become an HGV driver.
- Driving licence criteria:
- Held a full UK car driving licence (CAT B) for a minimum of 12 months.
- Anyone with more than 6 points, regardless of cause, will not be allowed onto the course. If you have a DR10 or a DR20 endorsement on your licence you will not be eligible.
- With your consent, we will carry out licence checks with the DVLA and DVSA.
- If you have a CAT C licence already and wish to get your C+E licence you need to have used your licence recently and have a minimum 12 months full time commercial – experience as a CAT C driver.
- Ideally, Novice learners (only CAT B or CAT D licence) who wish to get their C+E licence will have significant experience driving a vehicle larger than a car for an extended period of time.
