Alan Bryans
Driving School Manager & Driving Assessor
Alan is a qualified International Transport Manager, an experienced NRI Driving Instructor, RTITB CPC Trainer and Container Handler Operator. He has over 25 years of experience driving in the UK and across Europe. Alan has a military background and hence has operational experience in driving in arduous conditions, across various terrains. He has a broad range of experience with large goods vehicles and buses, working with ADR and abnormal loads. He is a motivated individual, who is committed to student relations ensuring they have the best possible experience whilst training with us. In his spare time Alan is an RFU Coach and Referee. We tried to make him smile for the photograph, but he was having none of it!
Darren Wilcock
Assistant Driving School Manager & Driving Instructor
Darren is a qualified International Transport Manager and Driving
Instructor with over 23 years of experience in the transport industry. He is also a qualified RTITB CPC Trainer, IOSH Manager and Mental Health First Aider. Darren delivers both practical and theoretical training to our
students, on a one-to-one basis for practical sessions, and in the
classroom or virtually for theory sessions. Darren adapts his training
methods to accommodate the needs of his students, ensuring they have
the best possible outcomes whilst undertaking their training. Outside of
work Darren is a keen advocate of mental health wellbeing and is a
facilitator with Andy’s Man Club.
Graham Silburn
Driving Instructor
Graham is a qualified HGV Transport Manager and Driving Instructor with over 17 years HGV driving experience and knowledge to pass onto new drivers coming into the industry. Graham has extensive knowledge of both tri-axle and rear steer trailers along with double deck trailers, refrigerated trailers and HIAB vehicles. Graham has taken up running in his free time and is currently training for his 2nd marathon, yes…. we can’t quite believe this either!
John Dawson
Driving Instructor
John is an experienced NRI Driving Instructor with over 30 years of experience in the haulage industry. He is committed to delivering first class training for his students by ensuring they have the best possible experience during their training. This is evidenced by his exceptional first-time pass record. John is an accomplished presenter having previously been the president of the Northern Guild of Toastmasters and a Town Crier. He is the Sergeant-at-Mace for the Hedon Town Council, his role is to accompany the Mayor of Hedon at official functions and walk with the Mace in front of them at parades, along with hosting Silver Shows for the Town Council’s important silver collection. John is also a keen motorcyclist and runner.
Darren Brown
Driving Instructor
Darren is an experienced Driving Instructor, and served 22 years in the armed forces as part of the Royal Logistic Corps. After leaving the military he became an HGV Driving Instructor at DST Leconfield as well as providing training in armed vehicles. Darren is also a qualified PCV Instructor and HIAB Operator. He loves spending time looking after his 4 grandchildren some of whom have special needs. They are his “everything”. He likes meeting new people and teaching them new skills and has a wicked sense of humour!
Dave Cawthra
Driving Instructor
Dave is an experienced NRI Driving Instructor who has recently completed his ADI training to become an Advanced Car Instructor. Dave passed his HGV driving test in 1987 and drove up until 2020, when he started delivering HGV training for both the military and civilians. Dave enjoys spending time with his wife walking their dog, and holidaying in their touring caravan in-between renovating their new home.
